WWI Source Mod is a team-based multiplayer first person shooter based on the events of World War I. Using authentic weaponry, play as Allied Forces or Central Powers, and defeat, capture or destroy the enemy.
Unlike other shooters, players will not only experience open and trench combat, but will also have to survive artillery strikes and other dangers – including chemical warfare!
Utilising the Source engine, the WWI Source team have created authentic weapons, models and sounds to create a realistic, atmospheric World War I shooter; becoming the first WWI game to be developed for Steam.

The idea for Playground wars came about when playing online with some friends it acured to me that I could most likely create a mod on my own with out any outside help.
Now my weakest subject is modelling, so what better way to go and not bother making guns, but instead use what I used when I was a kid “Fingers”, so it cam about my goal was to create a very playable game as quick as I can only using my own talents.
2 weeks later I had a playable alpha, 2 teams consisting of the ‘Goodies’ and the ‘Baddies’ 3 classes pistol man, shotgun man and machinegun man.
each class has a melee and a grenade, the grenades are ‘Coke cans’ and the melee weapons range from school ruler to broom stick light saber.
I let a selected few play this alpha and the result was a bit of a hit
I will continue to develop the mod, but in what little spare time I have, we will see what happens when its ready for release……
